Everyone needs more ammunition, right? Right! In the same era where Games Workshop issued various backpacks and other items, they also released a series of in-world Warhammer 40K ammunition containers! I’ve covered the massive Vortex Grenade case elsewhere<\/a> on this blog, so here are the rest of the ones I’ve collected so far! Again, I’ll try and link them to whatever release may have come out at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Always bless your ammo, soldier! Arriving with 5th edition Warhammer 40K, this crate appears to have been issued a couple of times. Once with the 5th edition core rulebook and templates, and once with internal foam. It may have also been issued along with the fluorescent green marker set. I believe the re-release was timed to 6th edition along with the lasgun packs in 2012. Amusingly, I’m pretty sure if you try and cram 200 “life-sized” bolter rounds in one of these, you will be sadly disappointed. I keep meaning to 3d print out a bunch and see!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These were issued in 2012, with the release of 6th edition. They contained small servo-skull markers\/dice holders, and a set of VERY hard to read dice. There were three sets: Triplex Phall, Mars, and Vostroyan. I do not remember which came with which. \ud83d\ude00 You can see the different sets in the advertisement page above. I may have…a lot of these, as I sourced about 20 of the laspacks for cosplay\/prop work. Never did build the lasgun that these would fit into… Someday! The tops of the tins slid off to access the delicious, delicious content within.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last of the in-world props released by GW, through a third-party seller Half Moon Bay who also produced some interesting in-world tin signs. This was part of the Warhammer 40K Store Anniversary offerings for 2019. They make for a nice storage for dice, templates, measuring tapes, and data cards. They’re also magnetic, so you can stick amusing things to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of you might recognize the artwork from a previous item. Back in 2008 GW released a paper storage box with the exact same art! Sadly, I do not have one of these, but here’s a picture of one…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While not released to the general public, this Claymore Mine tin was part of the Black Library’s Gaunt’s Ghosts limited edition release “The Vincula Insurgency: Ghost Dossier 1”. Everyone needs some fireworks to have a good time, and if all goes poorly, I guess I can use this to blow up the rest of my ammunition stockpile…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
